Danse: Tamir Ginz
Tamir Ginz lives in Beersheva where he is the artistic director of the Kamea Dance Company.
After completing his training in Israel and abroad, he danced with the Haifa Ballet and the Batsheva Dance Ensemble under the artistic direction of Ohad Naharin.
He was the choreographer of the Bat Dor Dance Company in Tel Aviv. In 1997, he won the Albert Gaubier Prize in Denmark with his creation Platform I for Bat-Dor. In 2002, he and Daniella Schapira founded the Kamea Dance Company, which is based in BeerSheva, the capital of the Negev.
Ginz’s choreographies combine an original movement and a personal touch to create dramatic pieces. His work has delighted audiences in France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, India, Ecuador, China and more. He himself took over with his company “Secret Garden” and “Limelight”
He holds a B.A. in Literature and Sociology from the University of Haifa and a diploma to teach dance from Kibbutz State Seminar College. He has taught dance at the most prestigious dance schools in Israel. He created the dance department at Blich High School in Ramat Gan.
Tamir is the recipient of the prestigious Ministry of Culture Award for her outstanding contribution to Zionist creativity in the field of Dance and the Arts in 2014 and 2015.
